Bill Chiaravalle is coauthor of Branding for Dummies and has spent more than two decades specializing in branding for a broad range of global, national and regional companies in an extensive range of industries. While many agencies include branding within a list of services, branding is the core of Brand Navigation and has been the focus of Bill’s career.
Bill’s branding experience spans more than two decades including the creation of hundreds of brand identity programs. His background involves serving at Landor Associates as Senior Designer and Creative Director for eleven years. While at Landor, Bill worked on branding programs for Bacardi, Bell Atlantic, California State Lottery, Danone, Delta Airlines, FedEx, Four Seasons Hotels, IBM, Microsoft, Motorola, NEC, P&G, Smucker’s, Sunkist, Trinchero Winery, Tropicana, United Airlines, University of California, and many more.
Upon founding Brand Navigation 2000, Bill has continued to expand his experience among a diverse range of clients including the Annenberg Foundation, AltaSea at the Port of Los Angeles, Atlantis Computing, Bend Broadband, Benedictine Brewery, Descartes Logistics Technologies, Ghirardelli, Hartmann Luggage, the Housing Authority of Portland, Hubbell Lighting, Intel, John Maxwell, Krusteaz, Microsoft, Linfield College, National Geographic, Park Hyatt, Seattle Space Needle, Sunpower, Sunnylands, Willamette Dental Group, World Vision, and various b2b, consumer and nonprofit organizations.
Bill was born in San Francisco and is a native Californian. He studied at the Academy of Art University in San Francisco and mentored under pioneering designers Michael Manwaring, Bruce Burdick, and Michael Cronan before joining Landor Associates. He subsequently founded Brand Navigation and currently serves as Principal and Creative Director.
Bill has received numerous branding and industry awards from organizations including AIGA, American Advertising Federation, Dupont International Packaging Design Awards, Logo Lounge, Print Magazine, and the San Francisco Art Director’s Club. He is currently member of the Coachella Valley Leadership Class of 2017.
